Trip Description

Destination Courses are all about taking your learning experiences to new and exciting sea kayaking destinations around the country and world! GKC combines inovative methods of coaching with prime sea kayak venues for unsurpassed learning and progression for you, the padder! On a destination course, you can expect to train hard, be challenged, see amazing sights, and have a ton of fun in the process!

Go beyond the inner islands as you explore all three sets of sea caves on your way to Devil’s Island! The Apostle Islands are the Midwest’s top touring destination, and the outer islands of the Apostles are a prime sea kayak training and adventure destination! Our Devil’s Island & Beyond trip is a great next step for those who have experienced the inner islands and want to explore some of the more exposed islands!

The Devil’s Island & Beyond trip is a GKC L3 Coastal Kayak Training, and is a great experience for those who have spent time working on their beginner skills and want to go to the next level! Paddlers should expect to paddle 10-15 miles on an average day during this trip. Please call us with further questions about the level of this destination course! Our Expeditionary Paddling Trips are for the paddler seeking to develop his or her paddling skills and seamanship while journeying on the sea by kayak. These trips combine both inn accommodations and backcountry camping as we often paddle into remote areas.

Included in the price of the trip is lodging on the first night in Bayfield, outdoor cooking equipment and meals. Kayaks and paddling gear can be rented for those who do not have their own boats. Tents*, sleeping bags and mattresses, personal clothing and paddling gear are not included. The course is lead by Geneva Kayak's ACA and BCU certified instructors.

* Tents can be provided upon request.
