BCU Coach 2

The British Canoe Union is the recognized world leader in paddlesports' education. It is the only certification system generally recognized worldwide. The BCU offers 2 tracks; personal skill development and coach
certification. The coach development track allows coaches to progress from introducing paddlers to canoes and kayaks in flat and protected water all the way to coaching on the open sea with tide races, overfalls and surf.

BCU (UKCC) Coach Level 2 Training

The new BCU UKCC Coach Level 2 Training is a 4 day program where participants will learn to expand their coaching tool box. A coach Level 2 is oriented towards developing students in their first 3 years of paddling on protected waters and is non-discipline specific. The Level 2 coach will have the skills to create a progression of teaching sessions for their students. Participants can expect to be paddling a variety of craft during the course including canoes and whitewater kayaks as well as touring boats.

2012 Coach Level 2 Program will be run as part of the Great Lakes Coaching Week (which precedes the Gales Storm Gathering). Coaches for the program consist of the amazing crew of the UK's Andy Stamp (BCU Coach 5, A5), and Leon Somme and Shawna Franlkin of Body, Boat, Blade International.
