GKC Level 2 - Touring Kayak
The Level 2 Touring course (new for 2011) is a great course for those who have experience in kayaks and are looking to refine their basic strokes, learn new stroke combinations and maneuvers, and advance their ability to rescue themselves and others. You will also have the option to learn how to roll your kayak during this course. The L2 Touring course is a full-day course and includes the kayak and all equipment needed for the day. The following skills are taught during a Level 2 Touring Training, which is held on calm, protected water.

Cost: 98.00 Per Person (includes boat rental and gear), 84.00 bring your own boat.

What to wear and bring to your class
In all level 1 and Level 2 courses, a part of the day involves intentionally getting out of the boat and into the water; you should dress for both the air and water temperatures.
appropriate paddling attire for warmer weather
- Swim suit or shorts
- Synthetic tee
- Neoprene booties, water shoes, sandals with heel straps (no flip flops or shoes with laces)
- Baseball cap or wide brimmed hat
- Dry clothes to change into
appropriate paddling attire for cooler weather:
- Synthetic base layer (like non-cotton long underwear)
- Additional synthetic layer
- Waterproof pants
- Long sleeve top
- Farmer john wetsuit
- Fleece or wool hat
- Neoprene booties, water shoes, sandals with heel straps (no flip flops or shoes with laces)
- Dry clothes to change into
Additional items you may want to bring include:
- Sunscreen
- Towel
- Lunch
- Water
- Snack or energy bars
- Nose plugs
- Eyeglass retainers
