Whitewater I - Intro to Whitewater Paddling & Rolling
Want to learn the fundamentals of paddling in a whitewater kayak? Whitewater I is a Geneva Kayak Center course designed to introduce paddlers to whitewater kayaks and basic paddling strokes/maneuvers in modern whitewater boats. We’ll spend the first half of the day learning about the boats, and practicing basics strokes on flatwater. The second part of the day will concentrate on the skill of rolling. The day includes training on the following skills:- Lifting, Carrying, Launching and Landing
- Efficient Forward Paddling
- Reverse Paddling and Stopping
- Moving the Kayak Sideways
- Preventing Capsize
- Turning
- Self-Rescue
- T-Rescue (Whitewater)
