Whitewater II - Moving Water

Whereas Whitewater I introduces paddlers to whitewater kayaks and focuses on flat water skills, Whitewater II moves the participant from flatwater onto moving water. We’ll focus on strokes and maneuvers in current, including the following skills:
  • Reading the River
  • Launching
  • Efficient Forward Paddling
  • Eddy Turns and Peel-Outs
  • Ferrying
  • Reverse Paddling and Stopping
  • Moving the Kayak Sideways
  • Preventing Capsize
  • Self-Rescue
  • T-Rescue (Whitewater)
  • Rolling
  • Whitewater Safety
This course is the pre-requisite for the Whitewater Weeknd course if the participant has no experience with moving water, and is also good stand alone course even if the participant does not want to move on to the Whitewater Weekend. The cost for the training is 92.00 per person with kayak rental and 78.00 per person if you bring your own boat and gear. If you are registering for Whitewater I and Whitewater II congruently, the cost is 150.00 for the weekend. Please give us a call with any questions you may have, or to register.
