Level 3 Whitewater immersion Weekend and destination week
The GKC Whitewater Immersion Weekend focuses on developing solid whitewater fundamentals in Class I-II Rapids. This fun weekend takes place on the Wolf River in Northern Wisconsin or or similar river depending on water levels. The skills that we cover during the weekend include:- Basic River Features & Terminology
- Basic River Safety
- Reading Rapids & Choosing Lines
- Self Rescue
- Assisted -Rescue
- Efficient Forward Paddling
- Eddy Turns and Peel-Outs
- Ferrying
- Surfing Small Standing Waves
Course Location: Wolf River, Wisconsin
Cost: 240.00 Per Person (does not include boat and equipment, gear can be rented for daily rate)
Lodging, transportation and personal paddling clothing is not provided
Length: 2 - 6 hour days
Level 3-4 Youghiogheny River Destination Course
Join us for 4 incredible days on one of Pennsylvania's premier whitewater rivers. "The Yough" offers a huge variety of paddling possibilities from scenic class 1-2 floats on the Middle Yough to exhilerating class 2-3 runs on the Lower. We'll take full advantage of all the Yough has to offer while working on increasing the fun and efficiency of playing the river.
Camping and hotel accomodations are available in the area but are not included in the trip.
Day 1: We'll warm up on the Middle Yough, playing "Ramcat" and numerous other Class 1-2 rapids
Day 2: A trip (or 2) down "the loop", playing holes, surfing, and acclimatizing to the bigger water.An afternoon trip to nearby Falling Waters house by Frank Lloyd Wright is also option.
Day 3: A full day run down the entire Lower section of the Yough, through exciting rapids and gorgeous scenery
Day 4: An optional shorter "Loop" run for those that want to hit the road early and a second "loop" run for those that can stay and play
Cost 420.00. (cost does not include equipment, lodging or meals)
