Geneva Kayak Center has canoes, sit on top kayaks, whitewater kayaks, and sea kayaks available for rent. Rental costs include the use of a pfd, paddle and sprayskirt for sea kayaks and helmets for any paddling in the whitewater park. Rentals may be transported to other paddling locations.

Notes concerning Rentals

  1. Rentals that are transported away from GKC must be made with a credit card. We keep your credit card information on file until the boat is returned in the same condition we rented it out to you in. Any damage caused to the boat during transportation or use will be charged to the credit card.
  2. Sit on top renters, tubers and rafters need no previous experience
  3. Decked kayak renters must have previous kayaking experience:
    1. Fox River flatwater rentals: Have taken a Geneva Kayak Center “Intro to Kayak” course and/or have previous experience renting AND be able to demonstrate competency in paddling.
    2. Yorkville Whitewater Park whitewater kayak renters must have taken GKC Level 1 Whitewater or have equivalent experience
  4. Shuttles are not currently available, If you want to make a one-way trip, you are responsible for returning boats the GKC
  5. Life jackets (PFDs) must be worn at all times while on the water
  6. Consumption of alcohol while renting or participating in any program is strictly prohibited
  7. Reservations are accepted with full payment. Cancelled reservations will not be refunded but if given at least 24 hours notice, you may reschedule your rental date.

Where to Take Your Rental on the Fox River

Launch above the whitewater park and paddle a leisurely loop upstream and float back with the current.
LOWER FOX 1 – Yorkville to Millbrook
Kayakers escape the bustle of the suburbs and head into the “wild” setting that is the Lower Fox river. This 7.5 mile stretch meanders through islands and Silver Springs State Park, with little development seen along the way. This section can also be done as a guided trip
